How Life Coaching Works
Coaching is accomplished through in-person meetings, or phone calls, including Skype, and email, customized to the level of support you want.
It’s important to bring commitment, a willingness to find and work your edges, and do some inner stretching. We also bring commitment: to be present and maintain a safe, non-judgmental space in which to honestly explore and grow, to maintain confidentiality, and to bring our best selves to the table. The goal is to be empowered and engaged in an authentic life that works – with ongoing access to support as needed to deal with change or unexpected circumstance. Individual sessions or coaching packages are available.
Peter is a Certified Coach and ascribes to the Professional Standards and Code of Ethics of both the ICF and CCE. Additional certifications and competencies: Mindfulness & Meditation Teacher, Organizational Trainer, Retreat Leader.
Life Coaching Perspective
Most of us want to be successful and enjoy well-being, but we
can have trouble seeing the path ahead – our viewpoint may be
too close to see the forest for the trees. And we can have difficulty
getting out of our own way, knowing how to plan effectively and act
consistently, or dealing with stress, motivational challenges,
procrastination, limiting beliefs, and negative self-talk.
Coaching gives us an elevation of perspective – and offers the
experience and tools that are usually needed to make important
changes that last. Having someone in our corner can make all the
difference for the times when we need to make the extra effort required to figure things out, turn them around, and establish momentum.
Confidence and self-esteem benefit when we clarify core needs and values, live with a sense of purpose, and define our personal meaning in life. It’s also important to develop actionable plans for achieving goals that align with that purpose and meaning – this helps maintain both personal success and optimal well-being.
There is power in knowing what we want and what we don’t want, and holding intentions that serve both us and others. As we learn to access our inner ground of being and give that a leadership role in life, we live with more awareness, well-being, and enjoyment – finding satisfaction and freedom in a life well-lived.
Mindfulness-Based Coaching & Training uses tested processes for revealing deeper layers of our own resources and potential. We identify qualities and values that give our own particular life meaning and purpose. And we find ways to move into alignment with core values in work, relationships, and everyday life. We create a vision and a plan for optimal well-being and a life that works, based on the unique and unrepeatable person that we are.
